About This Special Issue
For more than one and a half years now the whole world is in a pandemic situation. Since March 2020 the governments around the world are imposing more or less one and the same measures in an attempt to stop the Covid-19 infection and to protect their people. All these "openings" and "closings" around the globe are affecting the economies and the business. All economic sectors were forced to change their way of work and to try to adapt to the new situations. The new "Normal" is here now and it seems it's going to stay for a long time. For the time being, despite the efforts of national and international authorities, the pandemic is not over and the health measures will be imposed on a regular basis. In this situation, the business has to continue working. So, in this respect: how the government plan to adapt the economies to the new “normal” in the post-pandemic period, what are the changes that the companies have already made or plan to make in order to survive or to be competitive or to keep their staff. Nowadays we hear from everywhere that innovations are the solution to all problems, as the innovations are some kind of panacea. Is it really so? Are the innovations the only way to survive and develop in the post-pandemic?
